A:  I looked this up as well..it says it is most likely not leather from other couches, but from smaller pieces from leather shops that otherwise would have been thrown away and releathered into pieces big enough to do something with. It is real leather

A:  It us real leather, but it is smaller pieces of leather and then releathered (not sure if that's the correct word) into workable pieces. I researched it on google. I love the chair and there are no wierd seams

A:  It's not vinyl. .and it seems thick..not as thick as my couch leather..as this leather seems a bit harder but I feel that this chair will last a good long while
