Q:The description calls this espresso but in the pictures it seems to be lighter/warmer color. Is it actually really dark?

A: Unfortunately the pictures online shows both the cherry and the espresso. The espresso finish is not red, but a rich dark brown with a satin finish. Hope this helps. Factory Support

A: I would not recommend to remove the two dividers because if you are using this item for someone to seat on it would be the support for the item.
