Q:The bullet points says "3 steel wool pads per pack" and the second image for this is STEEL wool grades. I assume these are copied from a steel wool product page. This is bronze, correct?

      Answer This Question

A:  NO. This is BRONZE WOOL. "Acts" like steel wool but made entirely of bronze so it will not leave 'slivers' to rust. I have used it for many years on Marine Ap[plications & for Band organ work.

A:  It is not bronze coated steel wool. But if it were true Bronze it wouldn't just be rust resistant, Bronze does not rust. Just poor quality. Falls apart and disintegrates way too fast.

A:  Droppings do not rust like steel wool does!

        Answer This Question

A:  Thanks for reaching out. Just be sure to take proper precautions when removing any paint or existing coatings.

        by|May 27, 2020

A:  Yes. This is basically the same as 'Steel Wool' except being bronze the little 'particles' it leaves will not rust. Mostly used in Marine environments for that reason.

A:  Bronze wool will not scratch glass. (Nor will 0000 steel wool, or brass wool). Be careful you don't accumulate things in the wool that might, e.g. dirt and rocks.

A:  YES!!!! DO not use on glass!!

                by|May 28, 2020

A:  Most likely, YES! I'd try Turpentine, Lacquer Thinner, some kind of Paint Thinner. As a 'last resort' I'd try GENTLY working with a soft rag and Toothpaste.

A:  It is not specified for the bronze wool but 0000 steel wool is finer than bronze wool.

A:  Bronze Wool cannot get as fine as Steel Wool because bronze cannot be cut as thin as steel. Fine Bronze Wool is the finest cut of bronze possible and is equal to about #00 Steel Wool.

A:  There was a finer grade of bronze wool that were sold previously that were used for cleaning glass. The MANUFACTURES QUIT PRODUCING THEM. This is 00 grade, NOT 000 or 0000 grade ! Do not use on glass. Buyer BEWARE.
