Questions and Answers for Hampton Bay Mattock 3-Light Oil Rubbed Bronze Kitchen Island Light with Glass Shades

A:  Unfortunately this item is only available in oil rubbed bronze.

A:  Why not in BN? Almost every light gives this option. This would be perfect for my island in that finish. I can not find a pendant I like reasonably priced. Very frustrating.

A:  It is not available in BN. There is another BN 3 light fixture called the Oron.

A:  Yes, It will work fine on a vaulted ceiling.

A:  Not with the included mount

A:  Yes. As I recall, the chain link is about 5 feet give or take. If you want to go a greater distance you can purchase matching chain and lamp cord which are easy to connect if you're handy with some basic tools.

A:  It is a pretty heavy fixture, not sure I would recommend a swag unless attached to a ceiling joist.

A:  Yes. I assume you already have a receptacle box in the ceiling so the cover plate will fit over it at any angle. If you don't have power in the ceiling, this could be installed as a swag lamp, but you'll probably need extra chain and cord for that.

A:  Yes, by its very design it can hand on any angled ceiling.

A:  I would suggest another fixture if you would like to use a down rod.

A:  The chain is removable. The pole could be attached to the ceiling mount with a single link as long as you leave the electrical cord intact. The challenge we had was getting the lamp to stay oriented in the direction we wanted since it tends to seek its own direction. Adjusting the ceiling fixture hook is the only way to do this.

A:  I have the 4 globe chandelier on a dimmer. As long as the bulbs are “dimmable” it works like a dream.

A:  Yes, but you must use dimmable bulbs with a dimmable switch.

A:  I would suggest another fixture for longer length and rod.

A:  It cannot be used in this manner.

A:  Thank you for your recent inquiry with The Home Depot, Sue. This light fixture does need a chain in order to attach it to the collar that attaches to the ceiling. You can remove as many links as you like to make it attach as close to the ceiling as you wish. The bar the chain attaches to is 12-1/8" long. A:  This would require some customization and I wouldn't recommend it unless you were handy with electricity and had a good handyman

A:  Yes, but be sure and get one that can handle led bulbs, too, so you can use any type of bulb that fits a standard socket.
