Q:I purchased this umbrella recently and so far for the most part it has worked well. We have an ~30lbs base however, especially when tilted, it is fairly prone to falling over. Just curious on what a recommended base would be to prevent this from blowing over so easily.

Q:What size stand do you need for this umbrella

Answer This Question
A: You need a big or heavy one.

A: The pole size is standard. Any stand should work. In my case I took a cast iron planter and turned it upside down, filled it with concrete and inserted the pole. It fits perfectly under the table and because it's tall verses wide doesn't interfere with the chairs, plus looks cool.

A: Take a look at this model number Model # DTH11-B-BK
Store SKU #378755

A: The standard size for all umbrellas. Nothing unusual is required.
by|Aug 22, 2019
A: I used the umbrella only inserted in the middle hole of the table. If I open it only with the base, it falls down easily with the wind.
The base I use is aprox. 16 by 16. The heavy ones, like granite but still.
The umbrella is very heavy.

A: Home depot has Umbrella Stands from $40 USD to $102, various sizes ands shapes. I would recommend going to the Home Depot Web Site and see and pick one that fits your needs.
Thanks.

Q:What is the diameter of the pole?

Answer This Question
A: 1 1/2 in
by|Jun 12, 2019
A: Inside diameter is just over 1" The outside seems to be about 1.25". We amended ours with a 1" plumbing steel tube on the base that fit inside quite nicely. The tube thickness is just under 1/8" It works with most of the bases sold at Home Depot.
by|Jun 19, 2019
A: The base pole has an OD of 1.5". The upper poles fit inside this with an OD of 1.39" and an ID of 1.29". The upper pole at the point where it passes through your table will have the most wind stress. However, the place where the crank is located is probably the weakest/most vulnerable place since there is a large hole for the crank axle.
