A:  Yes the tires are fixed in place. Not an ideal design for a hose reel. Difficult to wind up hose. Deb

A:  It works like a Wheel Barrow. The Handle works great just pull it behind you and all is Good. I have had no issues with this hose cart. I have the full capacity filled with hose for several years now.

A:  Aloha West, The tires are mounted on fixed axles so they do not have the ability to turn on a pivot point. They do follow pretty well on wide patterns but if you want to make a sharp turn, yes, you will need to lift the back wheels and pivot on the front wheels but it's no big deal. We do it all the time with 200' of 5/8" hose mounted. Enjoy the day.

Q:Noticed that as i roll up the hose the fitting connecting the leader hose to the faucet also rotates and twists the leader hose...doesn't seem as though it was assembled correctly, it shouldn't rotate, should it? Just purchased it preassembled from the local HD.

    Answer This Question

A:  NO. It should not rotate the hose to the faucet. It was not put together properly.

    by|May 10, 2021

A:  Aloha Dan, That fitting should spin freely during unwind and rewind. It is possible that it was assembled incorrectly or that fitting may be bad. Since it was store assembled I would take it back there and let them check it over. You might also refer to the owner's manual and assembly instructions that came with your unit for ideas.

      by|May 7, 2021

A:  The hose going to the faucet does not rotate. Maybe you have to tightnen the brass connection.. The main hose does rotate so you have to have it placed around the outside large wheel. See attached photo.

A:  No, the end that attaches to the leader hose should swivel freely as you roll up the hose. I think you need to return it

Q:Can tou replace the gold part on the hose reel? It cracked in half and had only a year. I am trying to see if i still have a receipt for the warranty

A:  Looks like you mean the brass swivel that connects the reel to the tap. Mine also cracked after several years of use. It was out of warranty, but if you have a receipt, you might have better luck. I was able to order a replacement part from Hampton Bay by working with the HD warranty service desk. I had to google the toll free service number and didn’t save it. The replacement part is working well and was cheaper than a whole new cart. Good Luck.

A:  I would call the store and ask if you can get a tire for it or who you need to contact to get the tire.

Q:This is the Hose cart that I have and I wanted to know if there is a reason why water pressure is very low and what could do to fix it

          Answer This Question

A:  The hose is probably kinked right after the hose connection on the roll. Try getting the hose started on the roll very carefully without it kinking.

          by|Oct 23, 2020

A:  Hard to say. Any pictures? 1. Disconnect the "feeder" hose at the faucet and ensure the water pressure is normal at the faucet. 2. Remove the "main" hose that is on the reel and see if it works correctly off the reel. 3. Also ensure the "feeder" hose from the faucet to reel is also in good shape. Disconnect it from the reel and make sure the water flows correctly. 4. If Step 2 shows to be a good feeder hose. Reconnect to the reel and turn it on to see if the water flows correctly through the reel and exits where the "main" hose connects to the reel itself. Usually in my experience it is a defective feeder hose from the faucet or a kink in the feeder hose connection to the reel at the brass connecter. Hope this helps.

A:  I don't see a reason the cart would interfere with water pressure unless there is a kink somewhere in the hose you have wrapped around the dispensing wheel or in the connection hose between spigot and cart.

            by|Apr 19, 2022

A:  Unroll all of the hose and check if there was a kink in it.

A:  This cart has hard plastic wheels as of this writing (4/2022). It sounds as if the pneumatic ones weren't very good anyway.

                A:  Yes

                by|Sep 24, 2020

A:  Yes it does and they hold up pretty good.

Q:can the hose be loaded on there so that I can crank it up as a lefthanded crank? or does it only load on there one way?

                Answer This Question

A:  It works either way, Left or Right. Depending on which side of the reel you crank from. Just initially load the hose from the hose from the side you want to crank from.

A:  You can wind the hose up in either direction, whichever way you wish

A:  Nope, it is a well made hose reel, mine is probably 3-4 years old, I do not baby it, it is left out in the rain and snow (Northeast USA) and besides needing tires this year it still works well. The tires with hubs are inexpensive at HF like $9 dollars each. ANy other parts are available from the maker too.

A:  I have had mine for nearly 3 years. Works great. No issues.

A:  That has to be frustrating! There was only one in stock when we came across it at the store and snagged it a couple of years ago. If it's any consolation at all, this product is well worth trying again. It has made my plant watering a whole lot easier! The large tires allows the cart to go over lots of rough spots to get to where I need it. If it's possible to order it on-line, you might consider that option. Hope you're able to get one soon!

A:  Bell: I feel your pain, especially with this virus that has literally slowed down everything. But this is a very popular hose cart and a solution might be to order it on line and either have it delivered to your home or to your local Home Depot. That way you know you're going to get it. And believe me, it's worth it, I love mine. I hope that helps, Hank
