A:  Hi NYTwinsMom, No, this lamp does not take a three way bulb. You can only use use 1 standard medium base bulb or CFL equivalent.

A:  This lamp is really taller than the 12.5" listed in the description. Measuring up from the bottom to the white part only, it's 13" so by the time you add in the stem (?), harp, and finial it's probably 27" tall. It's a very nice lamp.

A:  White part is glass; base is metal in brushed stainless color. I had to switch out the harps that came with my lamp so this is not exact, but I would say from finial to bottom the lamp is probably at least 27". Hope this helps.
