A:  We are happy you love the island! The top of the island is attaches to the base using wood screws. When using power tools, please do not use a power tool above 8 volts to assemble. A:  ordered it almost 2 yrs. ago but (2) boxes were maybe 5x5x5 and was extremely heavy because the top of the island is solid wood. needed 2 people to hoist it up on the base. drop leaf allows 2 places for 2 people to sit on tall chairs. i love it, one of best buys i've made and all who've seen it think it's grand.

A:  It comes in I believe three separate boxes- one for the wooden top, one for the base, and another with all the side pieces and shelving. It doesn’t come in one gigantic box. You have to assemble it yourself. Great quality though and assembly was actually fun because someone with a sense of humor wrote the instructions.
