Q:What length nail is suitable for installing 1" thick concrete tiles over 3/4" plywood sheathing? 2" nails should give full penetration into plywood. Is there any benefit to using 2.5" long nails instead?

A: 2 1/2 inch nails are the correct size because of expansion & contraction, however, Check with the installation guide to find out if they recommend a special nail due to weight. They may suggest a ridged flooring nail with a washer

A: In this situation there is no benefit to using 2.5" nails instead of 2" nails as long as you have full penetration.
