A:  Sorry but I miss read your question.   You need a nail that is about an inch longer than the thickness of the ship lap

    A:  Those are probably much larger then you need. 1 1/2 - 1 3/4 18 gauge (nail gun) will work fine.

      A:  You can use this nail, however, you will need to be sure to use the proper size, depending on the thickness of the board.
