Q:WHAT IS THE DIFFERENT BETWEEN CLEAR AND UNFINISHED

    Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your interest in our Great Lakes Tin Ludington Lay In Ceiling Tiles in Unfinished. Our unfinished tiles are untreated tin panels, these panels will weather and patina over time as natural tin would if exposed to the elements. Our Clear finish panels are manufactured with a clear coating that helps prevent the tiles from weathering. If you have any additional questions please feel free to reach out to us at 800.434.3750. Thank you!

A:  Thank you for your interest in our Great Lakes Tin Ludington Lay-In Tin Ceiling Tiles in Unfinished. Our tiles are designed to lay into a standard 2' x 2' grid system. If they are not supported around each side of the tile, it will cause the tiles to fall through your grid system. We would recommend adding additional cross tees to your system to turn it into a standard 2' x 2' ceiling grid compatible system. If you have additional questions please feel free to reach out to us at 800.434.3750. Thank you!

A:  You certainly could do that but the two edges that are unsupported in the middle would eventually sag without support. They look great but are quite thin.

Q:Could these tiles be used behind a range? My concern is the high heat used in the self-cleaning function of the range.

          Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your interest in our Ludington Lay-In Tin Ceiling Tile in Vintage Bronze. We do not recommend installing our Lay-In ceiling tiles for a directly apply application. These panels are designed and manufactured to lay into a grid system, not be directly applied to a surface. However, we do have Nail-Up tiles available that should work for that type of application. Painted tiles are fire retardant up to 300 degrees, so you shouldn't have any issue with heat resistance behind your stove unless it exceeds that temperature. Q:Will these tiles dent easily

            Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your great question! Our Ludington Lay-in Tin Ceiling Tiles in Copper are designed to lay into a grid system. The panels should be able to stand up to normal ceiling wear. However, if too much blunt force is applied to the tiles, they may dent. If you have additional questions please feel free to reach out to our customer care team at 800.434.3750. Thanks again!

              Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your interest in our Ludington Lay-in Tin Ceiling Tile in Argento. We do not recommend using our lay in tiles in a direct apply installation; they are designed to be laid into a grid system. You can use our nail up version tiles in a backsplash installation. The panels can be installed on a vertical surface the same as a horizontal; with decorative/finishing nails. If you have any additional installation questions please contact our customer care team at 800.434.3750. Thanks again!

A:  Thank you for your interest in our Ludington Lay-in Tin Ceiling Tile in Vintage Bronze. We do not currently manufacture a coordinating grid system for our tin tiles. You can use a similar 15/16" color grid of your choosing or paint your existing grid a close color match which you can find in your local Home Depot location's paint department. If you have any additional questions please contact our customer care team at 800.434.3750. Thanks again!
