A: Hi Sandy,
Yes, I think this would be an excellent choice for your electric lawn mower. I have been using one for about a year with a blower/vac and a sidewalk edger. It will handle up to 14 amps, so it will work fine with your 12 amp mower.

A: I bought mine specifically for an electric lawn mower. My rational is that my electric mower is only going to be at peak draw for very short durations, and therefore the susatined current will be below the rating for the cord... i also keep my lawn under control. Are you going to let your lawn get really long and put a lot of draw on your mower? Are you tolerant of the risk of underspending and having it bite you down the road? Do you have fear or bravery in the face of bringing electrical equipment to it's threshold capacity? We can't answer that for you.

A: Yes, I have used this extension cord for the past year to power my 14 in. 120-Volt Corded Electric Lawn Mower and it has worked very well. However, this cord is rather heavy so I purchased a HDX 150 ft. 16/3 Cord Storage Reel Model# HD-130PDQ which helps me better manage it.

A: it all depends on the jacket. evin though 14 awg may not carry a lot of amps, the jacket on the cord can handel being draged and can handel rough use. unlike vinal jackets you can drag vinal very littel and wear a hole thru the jacket.
