A:  Hello Jerry, unfortunately Gladiator does not test shelves, hooks, baskets and bins on other slat walls.

A:  it doesn't come with a garage you will need to purchase one, once you do have a garage all mounting hardware is included in the package.

A:  You need the Gladiator Geartrack or Gearwall to mount the shelf.

A:  Screws to hold to the wall is all you need.

A:  As long as you already have the applicable gear track on the wall where you want the shelf, the shelf has all the components that you will need. A bit of simple assembly is required to attached the shelf supports

A:  You will need the tracks that secure to the wall. The shelf comes with brackets, but they need the tracks (I also found out that the Craftsman tracks work as well) In the picture, the tracks have Gray end pieces on them. I hope this helps!

A:  The mounting bars are too big... 2 X 6 or 2 X 8 would be even better. Remember, these can hold a lot , so the shelf is only as strong as you have it mounted. Mine are put in with 150# wall anchors in between the vertical studs & directly into every stud.

A:  Hello Cyn, unfortunately the GearLoft shelves cannot be mounted directly on 2x4s.

A:  It is designed to be used with the Gladiator Slat wall system. I would not modify it to hang on 2x4 wall

A:  I suppose you could but not sure why. You would have to drill holes in the brackets, and the spacing may or may not match your wall studs.

A:  No. The shelf has a rail on the back edge that needs to hook into a groove. I suppose you could do something clever with a router if you really wanted to. The vertical brackets could be directly attached to a 2x4.

A:  No. The closest thing is the 30x12 shelf and the 24X12 wire shelf. I’ve tried cutting the shelf to re-weld and its a mess but doable.

A:  The shelf is used with the Gladiator garage wall system. It made up of tracks that get screwed into the wall and then the shelf snaps into those tracks. The tracks will be screwed into studs. I covered one entire wall in my garage with this Gladiator track system and it is great. They sell different hooks, bike racks and shelves that really help get the stuff off your garage floor.

A:  You will need two Gladiator Geartracks for each shelf and a stud finder to install it on a stud. Yes, you will need to install it on a stud.

A:  Yes, you will need to install them on studs if you have some behind your garage door. These are 45 inches long, so if you want two side by side, you will need four 48 inches geartracks or four 48 inches gearwalls or two 96 inches gearwalls. If you are not handy at all, I will highly recommend you to hire a handy woman or man to do this for you.

A:  You need gladiator garage wall system to mount....by the content of your question I’d seek a handyman or woman

A:  My husband weighs 250 pounds. To test whether it was fastened properly he held on an it supported his weight for maybe 5 seconds. He fastened it securely to a supporting wall beam. I think that is the most important thing. We really don't put a lot of heavy things on it. We love it. Really keeps the clutter organized.

A:  Safe bet is to go with 50 lb since it's from the manufacturer. Possibly can hold more, but the issue is more about how well the wall brackets are attached to the wall. The system is uses 2 plastic rails that attach to the studs, but depending on where you want the shelf the brackets might not be that close to the stud anchor points. The shelf will bend slightly forward when loaded due to the way the bracket attachments fit into the rails. They are nice shelves and can be setup different ways - I have 6.

A:  We recently installed it and are following the guidelines of the product. We put the screws into studs . We are putting bulky items on the shelf such as coolers. Thus far, we are pleased with the product and quality. Good luck!

A:  Not sure, but it definitely holds 50lbs easily. Great shelving with easy installation, I love mine.

A:  If Gladiator spec says 50 lbs, I would certainly go by that. I have 4 of these installed and they are fine maxed out at 50lbs. One or two might even be a little over but not anywhere near 100.

A:  I had a heavy locker on the right side - shelf held the weight but sagged over time - have it above garage door and had to remove locker. very sturdy shelf - will hold the weight - 100 lbs might be pushing it a little
