A:  The HDG2BS4 is a whole house filter housing which is meant to be installed on your water main as it enters the home. We have sediment and chlorine filter cartridges available, neither one will remove calcium buildup, typically requires the use of a water softener.

A:  This housing accepts a 2.5" x 10" filter. Yes, you can plumb them 3 in a row but keep in mind that with every system/filter you install, your water pressure will decrease. Also, the PB1 filter is not intended to be used in whole home systems, but rather to be used in undersink systems. The claims that this filter reduces have been tested for 1 gallon per minute and the minimum flow for testing household filters is 4 gallons per minute. Using this filter for your household water will significantly reduce your water flow rate.

A:  Thank you for your inquiry. This system is designed to fit most major brands of drop-in style under-sink filters.

A:  The filter change interval will depend on the quality of your water supply. Water containing high levels of sediment will necessitate more frequent changes. I change mine when I notice a drop in water pressure.

A:  2-4 people 90-120 days 4-6 people. 60-90 days Don't worry about being super precise. Just check it from time to time and if it's dirty then clean it or change it. I'm a licensed plumber as well.

A:  It is recommended to change your filter every 3 months. Keep in mind that capacity varies with local water conditions and volume of water used.

A:  Changing the filter will depend on water consumption and the filter cartridge that you use. This will also depend on the condition of the water supply. I have well water that is high in iron and calcium. I also use a filter element that filters down to 5 microns. I change my filter elements every month. Mine are used to filter water entering into commercial ice makers.

A:  There is no information regarding how often to change the filter because that would all depend on the amount of water anyone uses. I think that when you begin to notice your drinking water quality changing that would be the time to change the filter.
