Q:Can I use this on a garage door window? How much privacy does it provide? Will my side of the garage look clear like a regular tinted window should? We're going for less crackhouse chic while retaining our garage privacy.

A:  Thank you for your interest in Gila Window Films. Yes, you can apply the Gila Glare Control Smoke to garage door windows. The Visual Light Transmitted (VLT) for this product is 18%. The lower the VLT, the darker the film. You will have visibility on the interior side looking out through your windows.

      A:  Hello Cheryl and thank you for your interest in Gila Window Films. Yes, the Gila Glare Control Smoke can be used on patio doors. This film provides very minimal daytime privacy. You will be able to see out, but it does not offer enough privacy to prevent someone outside from looking in.

            A:  Hello and thank you for your interest in Gila Window Films. The Glare Control Smoke is not considered one of our Heat Control films, but it does offer some heat control. The Total Solar Energy Reflected (TSER) % on this product is 46%. If you are looking for a film that rejects more heat, our Heat Control Films have TSER in the range from 57% to 72%, depending on which product you select.

              A:  Thank you for your inquiry! These two films are very similar. The main difference is the films darkness. The Glare Control Gray/Smoke has a Visible Light Transmitted specification of 18%, while the Black has a 6%. The lower this number, the darker the film is.
