A: Yes you can, but with these slat walls you need to have the aluminum strips in and secured. Then cut it with a carbide tipped blade. I used a scrap stick with screws in at the slats clamped and cut with a Skil saw with a Diablo 60 tooth blade. Also cut from the rear of wall

Q:What is the max screw head size that will fit in the groove? I would definitely need to use tapcon screws. Installation would be on drywall over cinderblock in finished basement room.

A: The opening between the slats appears to be 7/16” so your screw should be smaller than that.

A: I assume from the question that you want to install LED light strips in the channel created in the slatwall. Well, without knowing the LED product you have in mind I would hazard a guess that they would easily fit. Slatwall routed grooves are fairly standard across the industry, but you might best study the different types of router bits than can create the grooves. Here is an example: https://bit.ly/3yX9Mcr

A: The grooves are about 1 1/4" wide. That's the width of the vinyl inserts that slide into the grooves.
