Q:Will the horizontal rod below the light slide from one side to the other…and is it strong enough to hold a hanging plant?

Answer This Question
A: Hello, and thanks for your question. The post is made of cast aluminum, but weather it could securely hold your hanging plant depends on the weight of the planter and the stability of your installation, which can vary greatly depending on whether mortar was used to secure the lamp post (not a requirement for installation because of the EZ Anchor base) and the weather conditions in your area.
I'm sorry I can't give you a definitive answer, but you always could try the lamp post, and if it did not meet your needs, return it to your retailer in the time frame and condition required.

A: The horizontal rod is a screw in on both sides. If the fixture is in the ground properly and does not move it will probably hold a small hanging plant.
