Q:Can I use the upper duct cover only? For recirculating purposes. I only have 30 inches in height to play with. The instruction manual says I need minimum 33 3/8 inches but I can?t find any other GE models that would fit those dimensions (30 inches)?

Answer This Question
A: Thanks for checking with us! The vent hood must be installed 24" min. and 30" max. above the cooking surface, and the hood installation height, from the cooking surface to the bottom of the hood, depends upon ceiling height and duct cover limitations, which can be found on page 13 here: https://images.thdstatic.com/catalog/pdfImages/c8/c8b5f284-27c9-41ed-b340-90b24881bbc5.pdf. We do recommend installing as directed for safety reasons. We hope this helps, and should you have any additional questions, please reach out to us!- Kianna@GEAppliances

There are no specifications provided as to the height of the flu cover.
Please provide information as to the height.

Answer This Question
A: Hi! Thanks for asking. If you're venting the hood externally, then the height from the cooktop surface to the bottom of the vent hood would need to be between 34" to 36". If you're using recirculating venting, that height would need to be between 30" to 36" instead. A useful table as well as a diagram can be found on page 13 of the installation instructions. The Upper Duct Cover is: 25.81" H and the Lower Duct Cover is: 27.56" H. Hope this is helpful! Best wishes. -Michael@GEA

Q:Can this hood be mounted and vented out the wall. We have a tall vaulted ceiling and it will not reach the ceiling.

Answer This Question
A: Hi there! Thanks for asking. This model is meant to be mounted on the wall and vented through the roof. The max ceiling height that this unit can reach, based on a 36" countertop height, and if you're venting externally, is 10' 2". If you've got vaulted ceilings, we would not recommend that you modify the duct covering. We hope that this helps. If you have other questions, feel free to reach out to us on social media. Best wishes. -Michael@GEA

Q:The lights that come with the unit are halogen, which had that yellow/orange-ish color. Are there LED replacements available with 5000 Kelvins or 6000 Kelvins, the more white-ish color?

A: Hi 2TwentyTwo2 - Thanks for reaching out to us! We truly appreciate you choosing this designer range hood for your home and are happy to direct you on this. The lights in this hood are 12-volt, 20-watt halogen bulbs with a G4 base, part WB01X10239. When replacing them, you must use a bulb with the same wattage to prevent damage to the unit. We can understand preferring a whiter color temperature and would recommend that you reach out to GE Appliance Parts, as they will be your best resource on available replacement parts for your unit. You can contact them by calling 1-877-959-8688 Monday - Friday: 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. ET, Saturday: 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. ET, or reach out to them via their Contact Us page online.
