    Answer This Question

A:  Hello - we appreciate you asking this question. GE Appliances products are designed by GE Appliances engineers in the United States, and many are manufactured in the U.S. while others are made globally to our specifications. We make products all over the world for a Global marketplace, therefore, your best source for manufacturing location is the packaging/product itself. -- We hope this was insightful, and please reach out to us once more if we can help with anything else. Have a great one. - Pablo@GEA

Q:Just replaced this filter today in a system that is under our sink and the spigot is next to the faucet. There is a small orange/red light which started blinking and we thought it was a signal to replace the filter, but it is still blinking. What does that blinking light mean?

A:  I have a two filter system, and that does indicate low flow, time to change filter, if it still blinking you might need a new battery or you have to reset it, ie> remove the battery and reinstall it, mine has a reset button

Q:I have the GE Smartwater under sink dual filtration system and it requires two filters. Amazon sells the same product for the same price (as of 12/2015) but as a two pack. Is this product priced for a single filter replacement?

Q:I have this filter under my sink and the water comes out of a spigot that sits next to the kitchen faucet. The water flow was fine until I replaced the old filter with the new filter. Now the water flow is really minimal. What might be the problem?

A:  The tabs on the base that retain & set the filter may be worn. This does not allow the filter to fully open the internal valve. Check by manually turning the filter while operating the water dispenser (2 people may be required). If this is the case the base will need to be replaced.

A:  Hello jen7263, This is Michelle with GE Appliances and I am happy to help. If you haven't done so already, we recommend checking the installation by uninstalling the filter and reattach plumbing without filter in place. Check water flow to see if normal. If it is, then re-install filter to test again. If still slow water flow, we must recommend replacing filter. Thank you for checking.
