Q:Having trouble filling the risne aid dispenser on my GE dishwasher model gdf540hgdbb. Cannot tell if its full or if it needs more added.

            Answer This Question

A:  Yes it is awkward. It is not easy to see. Luckily we have a light in the ceiling that shines down on the door. Maybe you could use a small flashlight. They say that a full dispenser should last about 60 operations. I plan to fill the dispenser once a month on the 1st.

A:  Hello, This is Joyce from GE. I will be happy to help. The rinse agent dispenser holds 3.5 oz. (100 ml) of rinse agent. Under normal conditions, this will last approximately one month. Make sure the dishwasher door is fully open. Open the rinse aid dispenser door. Slowly add rinse agent until the fill cup is full. May need to pause several times to allow rinse aid to settle. Then you will want to clean up any spilled rinse agent with a damp cloth and close the rinse aid dispenser door. The amount of rinse agent released into the final wash can be adjusted. The factory setting is at the midpoint. If hard water spots appear on dishes, try a higher setting. If you see foam in the dishwasher, move the indicator to a lower setting. To adjust the setting simply open the rinse aid dispenser door and then turn the adjuster clockwise to increase the amount of rinse agent, counterclockwise to reduce the amount of rinse agent. Thanks so much for checking with us. Have a good day!

Q:Wine Glasses in top AND bottom racks

              Answer This Question

A:  We too like our wine! We have had the dishwasher for just over a month and are very pleased with it. I just measured the distance from the bottom rack to just below the washer arm for the top rack and it is 12". With the top rack lowered, there is 11" clearance on the top rack and 10.5" clearance on the bottom. Hope that helps.

                  Answer This Question

A:  Hello RGDS - this is Nancy at GE and I am happy to help you. The Normal Cycle with the Heated Dry Cycle could run about 133 minutes, so the run time you describe sounds normal. However, because this dishwasher is very energy efficient, it still uses less energy than older dishwashers. If your dishes are not drying properly, first make certain that your water is entering the dishwasher at least at 120 degrees Fahrenheit (you may wish to run your hot water at your sink and start the dishwasher after the water is hot), Also, please make certain you are using a rinse agent. Should you have any further concerns, please exercise your warranty and contact GE Consumer Service at 1-800-432-2737 and they will be happy to help you. Thank you for choosing GE!
