Q:Can this be used with a round SVT cable

A: Dear Hazel, This switch is rated and tested for use with 2-wire #18AWG flat types SPT-1 and SPT-2 as well as 18AWG SJT cord (max diameter .29”, or 2.4mm). Unfortunately, this item has not been tested or approved for use with #18AWG SVT cords. A: Yes, this switch could be wired in-line with the appropriate wiring to allow for you to turn the lamp on and off using the extension cord you wire the switch in to.
