A: it's mainly the knitted cut resistant fiber that protects the hands, it's rated cut level 3 (out of 5). but the palm, with an extra layer of coating, would give you some extra protection

The G & F Products Cut Resistant 100% Kevlar Heavy Weight Textured Latex Coated Large Gloves are rated for cut resistance and not for use in electrical resistance.
We do carry gloves that can be used in some electrical work, depending on what you are doing but these gloves are NOT intended for energized electrical use.

A: You really should ask the manufacturer. The only other person who could answer this question responsibly would be someone who had an "encounter" with a chain saw while wearing these. I think these gloves might be a little "thin" to protect you from an accident, though I do use them when handling firewood.
