A: The 2.5" projection are the furthest points which are at the plinth and the top capital. The fluted center portion is only 1 3/4".

A: The plinth block completely surrounds the pilaster. Any gap between the bottom of the pilaster and the “floor” will be hidden. You will need to caulk the top edges of the plinth block as the fit is not precise.

A: Yes, that should work fine. If there is still a small gap at the bottom you can trim out the bottom with1/4 round

A: The 8" adjustable pilasters come in lengths of 90", 108" and 144". They are meant to be cut down to the length needed and the plinth blocks at the bottom are meant to hide the cuts.
