Q:We are trying to figure out how to fix or replace current handrail posts on our front porch steps. They are no longer attached at the base, and one has had the top cut through the interior pipe to see what was going on, and I don't think that one can be fixed... Can this Fypon post be attached to brick steps, and if so, how is this done?

A:  I would think that the Newel post can be mounted on brick just like concrete. I mounted mine by drilling holes in the concrete with a hammer drill and masonry bit, then installed anchor bolts with the Fypon plate.
