A: Gravity. You clamp a hose to a plastic pipe (I think it did not come with the hose), and it needs a continuous downhill run to the drain.
It does not have a pump. You could drain it into a sump that has a pump.

A: Thank you for your question, Harvey! The continuous drain feature requires you to connect a garden hose to the dehumidifier FFAD3033R1. The water that is removed from the dehumidifier will feed down the drain hose and exit the appliance. We hope this information is helpful to you. –Thanks!-

A: Hello Carl and thank you for your question.
For your reference, here is the link for the Use and Care Manual: http://www.homedepot.com/catalog/pdfImages/f0/f045e052-0c82-42c8-97d5-31ed60f5da55.pdf.
You can clean the bucket with warm water and detergent. Since you are emptying the unit several times a day, I suggest that you also wash the filter every two weeks and vacuum the grill following the manufacturer’s instructions on page 9.
Best wishes on your project.

A: It's sized right for the room and temperature, but I would not recommend buying this product or any Frigidaire product based on my previous experience (see my review for this product). This is especially so since your room contains many valuable items.
