      A:  to install it properly, you need to drill four holes, preferable into an underlying stud.

        A:  We would not suggest you placing a total of over 35lbs on the shelf.

          A:  it depends on how the flanges are anchored. If the flanges are anchored into a stud, they will support the most weight, probably up to 15-20 lbs. if expanding anchors are used, the wider the expansion, the more weight they will support.
