Q:Our wall space is 72 3/4" wide. Can this rod and flange set be used? Or do I need to buy an 84" rod and cut it way down?

A: Yes, we did cut the bar with a pipe cutter in order to fit properly. The bar is hollow. Be careful not to crimp the pipe when cutting.

Shower Rod with Step Style Flanges in Satin Nickel (model # 185-6SN) can be cut however cutting the rod may void the warranty. A: No, the flanges slide on the bar. We also had to cut the bar to fit the space. You might want to consider inserting a dowel in the pipe to cut without crimping the metal, though we didn't do that.
