Q:Do you have any suggestions for further securing the caps go the ends of the lattice? I lost three in a monsoon storm with hail, and yesterday I lost another two in 40 mph winds.

A:  Hi Bean, Yes you can use some caulking inside as they slide into the tube and then one #8 x 1/2" +- sheetmetal screw or self drilling screw only on the top side of the tube to secure the end cap. Usually only needing to secure the 3x8 header beam and the 2x6.5" rafter end caps. Thank you BK

Q:My pergola is installed and quite beautiful. I don't know if my guys misplaced it, or if the kit was simply short, but I need one more plug for the post. My pergola is dark brown. Thanks, Bean

A:  Hi GO, In the 20lb snow load we do not offer a 22ft w x 12ft deep kit. The issue is the roof panel span can't quite make that span distance with the 20lb load. As you found, the 20 x 10 kit is available for the 20lb load. At this time we are not able to do custom kits. thank you, BK

A:  Hi Bean Not to worry, the pergolas are deigned for 115mph wind gusts. Being an open roof is another advantage against wind as it blows on through. Thank you BK
