A:  Four casters may provide 2200 lbs total weight capacity however, I only needed to support 1000+ lbs and the casters worked out perfectly.

Q:How easy/difficult is it to raise/lower the leveling foot? For example, if I have a 400# work bench with one of these on each of four legs, and it's sitting on the "fixed-position" feet, roughly how long would it take to raise the feet so that the bench is mobile - 10 minutes, 20 minutes, 30 minutes?

          Answer This Question

A:  Hello, Gary! They are pretty simple to raise and lower. They would only get difficult if they were over loaded (exceeded maximum capacity). In your case you have plenty of capacity to spare so it would take you less than 10 minutes to level the table off. Thank you for your question! Ryan

A:  Hello! All FootMaster leveling casters on homedepot.com are swivel.

A:  Yes it is a swivel caster not rigid. When the leveling pad is lowered it lifts the wheel from the ground to make the cart or table stationary and stable.

Q:It sounds like the item the caster attaches to, sits on the ground under its own weight (when casters/wheels are not in use to move the irem) -- correct? So does the load rating only apply (to the weight on each caster) when the wheels are "engaged" and the object they're attached to is being moved? Is it a load rating under movement only?

                  Answer This Question

A:  The manufacturer website actually lists separate lines for static and dynamic capacity, and in the examples I have seen, the numbers are the same. The website also advises that optimal leveling occurs at 50% of rated load. That is to say that if a 1000# load is being installed on four casters, the recommended rating for individual casters should be approximately 500 lb. Hope that helps.
