A: Your question should be for the store... FYI when you ask a question on this link from Home Depot the question goes to other users of the product not the manufacture..
A: I had the same experience. I believe that it had something to do with the trucks being delayed due to the riots. All that products sitting in the hot sun for days waiting to be delivered. It just got too hot and spoiled. That's all I could come up with.
A: Call the company and ask them...
A: This does not sound right! Please contact us at 1-800-321-3444 between 9am-5pm EST Monday-Friday or by email at DPUSA_Flood_Mail@ppg.com
A: Probably If you are unhappy with how the product is worming return it
A: It comes out of the bottle white, don't know how it dries. I use clear spray varnish to clear coat handles I replaced in Kitchen
A: NO

A: I used a brush doing all trim in a remodeled bathroom. I'm sold on the product. Best results are on flat surfaces just as it is with paint. I find it makes a better end result on vertical surfaces also. It slows the evaporation rate allowing paint to self level. Of course paint won't self level on vertical surfaces but it's easier to feather paint on vertical surfaces with the product.
A: Carrie you need to add the additive to paint and mix it together before to can use it... check out YouTube to get more ideas
A: Do not use a brush, use a small roller for all flat surfaces and brush where you have trim. The roller will give you a smoother finish especially if the door are on a flat surface to dry. You don’t want to paint the doors if there are hanging vertical. My advice is you to YouTube and see how for some videos that will show different techniques
A: Floetrol is only meant for waterbased product. For waterbased product you will need to test for compatibility. Mix a small amount 1:1 ratio of each together and stir for compatibility. If the consistency and odor of the product is unchanged, will be fine.
A: I don’t know.. most Alkyd paints should be use full strength. The only way to see is to try it with small amount paint and Floetrol.
A: According to the statement on the bottle, Flotrol is for use with Latex or Acrylic paints so it would be a good choice for the Regal Select paint. Since the purpose of the "Alkyd" paint is to provide characteristics similar to oil base paints, I don't think you would need to add Flotrol as the purpose of Flotrol is to make latex paints "act more like oil base paints"; i.e., extend dry times so the paint can flow out better thereby reducing brush marks as well as leveling out better. As to compatibility of Flotrol and the Alkyd paint, your best bet would be to check with Benjamin Moore. They should be able to tell you if the two are compatible and if there is anything to be gained by adding Flotrol to their Alkyd paint. Hope this helps.
A: Yes as long as it is water based paint
A: No, this cannot be used in chalk paint.
A: Hi there, please call 1-800-441-9695 for more information.
A: Mine stinks too ... this is why I googled the question
A: I just picked up 2 gallons from HD of Floetrol and they also smell horrible! They are also leaving what looks like grit in all my paint pours. Now I’ve purchased it before in the smaller bottles and never had an issue until buying the gallon size. Going to return them because they’ve ruined everything I’ve poured.
A: I don't smell it at all when I'm using it.
A: Bought 2 gallons....one was fine...other had a yellow tint to it and smelled horrible....both had white caps, bought at the same time from the same location.
A: Exactly so! And that’s why I googled it! I thought maybe the product has expired and then saw that they changed the cap to white. It smells so bad!
A: Three of my containers smell like rotten eggs and the other one smells fine. No particular smell. Horrible smell
A: I bought some and had the same thing! Smells just like rotten eggs. Ive never experienced that before with this product
A: Mine smells like rotten eggs for the first time ever also! And you’re right- I didn’t even notice but the cap is white instead of orange
A: I mix acrylic Paint with floetrol and all my mixtures smell so bad.
A: Mine does too but it still works. It smells like something rotten
A: It is thinning the paint but all paint companies say the same thing. They know that the formula use to make their paint will perform in an expected way and if you change the mixture they won't stand behind it to perform properly. Floetrol is added to the paint to allow it to flow or self level and reduce brush marks. Typically it is used for woodwork or cabinets, not walls. The other possibility is using to enable a spray gun to give a smoother finish for woodwork.
A: If the paint is latex, you would be fine to use this.
A: Yes that's what I use it for . My paint wouldn't move if I didn't use. But I paint on canvas.
A: That's what I use it for.
A: I’ve never seen a clear Floetrol, it’s always milky
A: Both are the FLD6 product code, so they are the same thing. Just listed differently on the website, we will look into this.
