A:  Hello AMF, I’m Chris from the Home Depot’s how-to Community. Thank you for your question. This door is a pre-hung type and as such comes with the door frame. Ideally, you need to measure the rough opening by removing the interior trim. Measure 3 widths, stud to stud at low, middle and high. Measure 3 heights, floor to header at right, middle and left. You are looking for minimum specs of 38-1/4 by 82-1/8. I hope this helps, Chris. .
