Any texture should be sanded down to create a level surface for the recommended PL Premium adhesive to hold. While in a backsplash application is just fine for installation, we don't recommend installing the panels in an area with constant and direct water contact over an extended period of time, the panels and adhesive are not warrantied to withstand that type of moisture exposure. Yes, our panels are manufactured with an overlapping lip on the top and right hand side of the panels. These are meant to overlap and create a seamless application. Each panel is 18" high by 24" long (for typically applications, however, the panels can be rotated for installation needs) and cover 3 sq. ft. per panel. The trim components are typically available in either 18" lengths, or 4' lengths to best fit your application needs. A:  Yes, it can be painted to a custom color

A:  Thank you for your interest in our Fasade Traditional Style #4 PVC Decorative Backsplash Panels in Matte White. Yes, our Matte White panels can be painted any color you choose. We recommend using a paint designed to be used on PVC material. Please follow the instructions on the paint label for proper installation. We would suggest painting them prior to installing. The panels are class A fire rated and can withstand up to 140 degrees as long as they are kept 6" from a direct heat source, such as a burner. Your typical stove with a control panel on the back won't cause any issue with our panels installation.
