A: You can secure it with the screws. It depends on your location and access. Sometimes a duct tape is enough.

A: Yes, this is the correct piece of ductwork to make the connection to a microwave duct. We use them frequently when you are able to use the 7 inch pipe to connect the ductwork to outside of the home. As always proceed with caution, gloves, sharp sheet metal snips and silver foil tape.
