Q:There're two small holes just right above the net. I'm using this as an intake to suck in fresh air. I worry if this will also suck in some small fiber glass behind this vent, which may be harmful to human lungs to breath in

            Answer This Question

A:  Letting in fresh air into the home's air circulation system is a way of increasing the oxygen content of indoor air, thus improving the quality of the air you breathe.

A:  rockman413, The product you're referring to is actually an "exhaust vent" and primarily used to exhaust. So I'm not sure if can be, nor should be used as an intake. However, I can tell you I was impressed with the durability of the product. It's very well built and strong. As far as any cancer warning I have two uninstalled vents left and inspected them. There are are NO warning labels or markings on them. However, as an "exhaust vent" I'm not sure that would matter. Good luck.

Q:How is this installed? Do I need to drill holes? Can I add additional screen?

                Answer This Question

A:  Slide this into the existing vent holes. It may need to be size adjusted to get it in. Then push in flush with the house siding and drill holes so there is no gaps. You do not need any additional screen as it has a screen included. Works great. We replaced all of our plastic vents that broke and deteriorated from the sun.

A:  You can use screws or nails to attach this to the siding. An addition screen is not needed. If you have any other inquiries about our Master Flow products please call Technical Services at 800-211-9612.

A:  The screen wire used is 1/4" and will deter most insects but not guaranteed deter all. Please call MasterFlow Technical Services at 800-211-9612, M-F 8A-5P EDT, for any additional questions.

A:  The finer the screen mesh, the less air will actually be able to pass through. You can compensate for this by selecting a larger diameter vent...or keep the smaller diameter (coarser mesh) and deal with the few bugs that possibly will make it through.
