A: The Everbilt 1/8 in. x 250 ft. Galvanized Vinyl Coated Steel Wire Rope is not to be used for overhead lifting, or in any application where failure may result in bodily injury.

A: No, that is a dangerous idea. You would need a much thicker gauge.

A: This product does not come with a hook. You can purchase this and a hook like Part# 44004 (5/8 in. x 3-1/8 in. Nickel-Plated Swivel Bolt Snap (2-Pack)), or purchase Part# 803192 (1/8 in. x 20 ft. Galvanized Dog Run Cable) which is a rope with hook/link. In order to assist better, please specify the application so we can find the best product for the project.

A: Yes it is 1/8 WITH the vinyl.
to hang clothes you can get this less expensive one (less metal wire, but good enough for clothesline):

A: The size of metal cable is 1/8" round, the size of the metal cable and plastic covering is 3/16" round. This cable has more than enough strength to hang clothes on.

Answer This Question
A: Depends, you can bend or flex this cable into a fairly tight bend but then it will stay in that form, bent. I would say that if you wanted the cable not to take a set and return back you probably should not bend it any tighter than the roll it came on. good luck

Q:what is tensile strength or weight load of this product?

Answer This Question
A: The specs say 360 lbs lifting strength. It may hold more but if and when you are lifting something and the cable breaks, the resulting lash of the cable may cause bodily harm. Better to be safe when it comes to lifting and not exceed specs.

A: I think it is in the spec, some 340 lbs or so.

A: The working load is 340 lbs. which means the static load should be slightly higher but how high I can't tell you. Tensile strength (break point) without knowing the material, sorry I cannot help. good luck.
