Q:I want to use a total of 8 pads under a 60" by 40" butcher block countertop that will be placed on top of a washer and dryer. The goal is to protect the surface of the washer and dryer and allow the butcher block to be removed, if we need to get to the appliances. Should these pads hold up?

A: The pads make things slide. I am not sure that will work for what you want to do? They are also not that heavy duty perhaps for that job?

A: Hi AZfamily- these felt pads should hold up if they are kept dry. Be aware that they do slide on smooth surfaces so if it is important the the butcher block countertop be steady and not slide around this may not be the best choice.

A: Felt pads are ideal for sliding furniture across indoor smooth surfaces. Using these in a garage or outdoor setting would most likely cause a shortened life span.

Q:I'm considering using these under an island cabinet with a quartz countertop. It will weigh around 250lbs to 300lbs fully loaded.
I would like to make the pads a permanent part of the feet. Although the cabinet will mostly stay in the same place, I would like the opportunity to move it around a little as needed. It is located in a small kitchen and did not want to lock it down to the floor permanently.
I have them on the cabinet now and it slides nicely but after the countertop is installed and the full weight is applied I'm concerned that over time they may breakdown?

A: Felt pads are not designed to hold a lot of weight. They will flatten over time.
