                A:  Yes, it will maximize the loaded closet rod capacity. If a stud is not available in the specific location you are installing. You might consider installing a horizontal 2x4 board that is installed into the studs within the space. B.B.

                  A:  It wouldn't hurt, but if you don't have a stud conveniently located where you need it ...and let's face it - it's not - you can use drywall anchors like I did and it should hold it in place with no problem. We have a lot of heavy jackets and jeans on it and it holds up very well.                     A:  No, but it’s best cause the weight you going to put on the pole. You can use Anchors with the Screws if you don’t have studs.
