Q:I?m 50 feet from the discharge point in my basement. Will this lift the water 8 feet and push it the 50 feet out to my discharge point?

Q:I brought the HDSP50W model pump but my discharge pipe is 2". The assistant at Home Depot said this will still work and sold me a 11/2" to 2" adaptor and said that would work fine. Is he correct?
