Q:how many oz ethanol stabilizer should i add per gallon of gasoline?

      Answer This Question

A:  Read the label, the ratios changed over time. My current bottle says 1 oz per 2.5 gallons for 2 and 4 cycle engines (like lawn equipment), 1 oz per gallon for storage, 1 oz per 10 gallons for autos.

      by|Jan 19, 2022

A:  1oz for 5 gallons. A 1/4 oz for 1 gallon is fine. Overtreatment not a concern. I also add 1oz of Marvel Mystery oil per 5 gallons.

        by|Jan 19, 2022

A:  For 5 gallons it is 2 OZ for our lawn mower. that is what we use. do the math, it will be in teaspoons. There are online calculator to convert ounces to teaspoons.

          by|Jan 19, 2022

A:  We recommend 1oz to 2.5 gallons. You cannot over treat with our product, so adding 1oz to a gallon is perfectly alright and will not cause any issues.

            by|Sep 9, 2023

A:  It all depends what your using it for and how (storage or weekly use) The mix ratio is clearly printed on the back of the bottle.

Q:I currently drive a 60-mile round-trip and pay an additional 55 cents/gallon to get ethanol-free gasoline from a high volume Top Tier gasoline station for my lawn equipment. Will this create the benefits of the non-ethanol gasoline I spend so much time and money getting if I simply add this to an ethanol-blend gasoline? If so, that will surely save me allot of money and time. Thank you.

                Answer This Question

A:  While Ethanol Shield will not "create" ethanol free fuel from ethanol blended fuel, it will help the engine to run smoothly and keep the fuel fresh in storage for a minimum of a year. The product helps strengthen the bond between the ethanol and gasoline molecules and helps keep water in solution so it can burn through as if it wasn't present, it also rejuvenates plastic and and rubber parts in the fuel system.

                  A:  ONE YEAR

A:  Ethanol Shield will stabilize your gas for a minimum of a year. Depending on storage conditions (ie kept in a an uninsulated shed vs an insulated one) and some other factors, it can last longer.

                      Answer This Question

A:  You can use this with most other products on the market, but there is no benefit from using 2 fuel stabilizers at the same time. If you were to use Mechanic in a Bottle, our fuel system cleaner, using it with a fuel stabilizer will be beneficial as you will have a cleaner and a stabilizer going through your fuel system.

A:  In my opinion, there is no advantage to using both. I do prefer the ethanol shield as it is good for a year.

A:  This product counteracts the corrosive effects of alcohol in the gasoline. It also extends the storage life of the gasoline. It does not provide lubrication. You must have 2 cycle oil mixed in the fuel for lubrication.

A:  Add to the already mixed 2 cycle oil gas, this does not take its place.

A:  You add this into your 2 cycle mix, it is not a replacement for 2 cycle oil. Also we do offer a 2 cycle oil with Ethanol Shield premixed into it, Sold as a 2.6oz/1 gallon mix or a 16oz squeeze bottle in the 2 cycle equipment aisle of your local Home Depot.

A:  You need to mix the ethanol shield in your gasoline, then use the treated gasoline to mix with the 2 cycle oil
