Q:What setting to put this on, to come on during power failure

A:  Turn the light on. Then when you plug it in with the light still on, the light will go out. When power fails, light comes on.And when you want to use the light, unplug it and it also comes on. Because when you unplug it,it is losing the power from the socket, just like when the power to your house fails. Buy several, put one in each room.

A:  On; plug in the receptacle--the light goes off and will light up only when power goes off; then use as a flashlight until you can gather up other supplies to use during the outage. LED lights are much brighter than the older fluorescent flashlights; do yourself a favor and invest maybe $150-$200 and convert to LED emergency supplies - so much easier to see in the dark and much less frustrating on everyone.

            by|May 26, 2020

A:  If you leave it in the on position while it is plugged in, when it is removed from the outlet the light will be shinning in the dark for you.

              by|Nov 8, 2019

A:  No you can;t use it that way. Just keep plugged in , when you need it it will be fully charged to use as regular flashlight.

Q:One reviewer stated: With a flick of the switch, it becomes a night lite, even while it is plugged in and charging. Flick the switch again, and you have the ultimate safety feature for power outages. The moment your power fails to your home, this light automatically turns itself on, which lights up the room for you to move about safely. My question is... if you use it as a night light and the power goes off will it automatically light up without pulling it out of the wall? The review above implies otherwise.

A:  With your flashlight turned to ON, plug it in. The flaslight then goes out because you have power in the socket. But when the power to your house fails, yes, the light come on automatically. Also, if you unplug the light, the light comes on, because it does not have the socket power. The light senses whether there is electricity going to it. I find it best to just leave it in the ON position all the time, I use LED auto light sensing night lites.

A:  The thumbnail we see is an updated version, the previous version does have a 1.2v coin battery that can be replaced the updated version has a battery that is 'permanent' in waterproof epoxy inside, once battery is expired that's it however the updated one should have a replaceable 1.2 AA battery they just need a 'door' holding it on with a #2 screw, 4 hours just isn't long enough today, 12 hours can be achieved with a 1.2v AA battery rated 3800mah

A:  The device is always taking a trickle charge to keep if fully charged for power outage... It is using the slightest amount of power to monitor. The light is simply an indication that power is applied to the unit in an active live circuit.
