A:  Hi, Our mantels are made of cement resin and are hand painted to look like wood. The GAD1450SP mantels are not made of wood. The flames should not be touching the mantel. The flame is adjustable and should not be used in high winds as noted in our manual. Our firepits are also tested to the highest standard: CSA tested and approved.

A:  Hi, The GAD1401M can be stored in a covered area without a propane tank. You want to use the unit on concrete, or stone surface. Do not use the unit on asphalt. The unit should be used in an uncovered area and at least 10 feet away from any structure in all directions. To move the unit it requires two people. Please refer to the owner's manual for safety and instructions.
