A:  Hello James! Our recommended cabinet sizes are based on the standard cabinet sizes. A 25" sink would need a 30” cabinet base for ease of installation, giving them 2-1/2” on either side of the bowl to tighten the sink to the countertop. With only an 1-1/2” on either side, we suggest you consult with your installer to ensure that the sink can be tightened down without any issues. A:  I measured mine personally and it's technically both. From the outer edge to the outside bottom of the bowl under the sink is 9". From the inner edge to the inside of the bowl it is 8". You will need 9" clearance under your sink to install.
