A:  Thank you for your interest in our product. Polyurethane does not take a traditional wood stain, but can be finished using a gel stain to provide the look of stained wood!

Q:I would like to use this moulding to make a cornice. If I purchased a piece to fit my window width and an additional short piece, could I cut the short one to make a projection from the wall (about 5 inches) and would the profiles match at the corner if I made a butt cut?

    Answer This Question

A:  Yes you can cut the material if need be, although they are designed to be installed over the window as they arrive. We offer these in a number of sizes, so maybe it would be a good idea to speak with someone at your local Home Depot and see if we can offer a custom crosshead that would fit your application.

Q:If I order a unit of 80 inches across, is it 80 inches at the top or at the bottom? Since the unit is tapered, I need to know before ordering. Also, this unit is specified at 3/8 in., again is that the measurement at the top or the bottom? Thank you

          Answer This Question

A:  Hi, The 80" would be the bottom measurement. The 3/8" is also the bottom. We try to stick with the most important measurements in our product descriptions. Hopefully that is helpful! -Daniel @ Ekena Millwork
