Q:at 172 inches do you cut to fit windows?

    Answer This Question

A:  Thanks for reaching out. We have this crosshead in every inch, from 24 inches to 180 inches. You'd order the crosshead to the dimension you need. You can choose the size from the "Product Length" drop-down menu. If you'd like to trim it, the material is easy to trim with general woodworking tools and would typically be spliced from a center-cut and then put back together with caulking and adhesive. Hope this helps!

Q:My window with casing is 39 overall. Should I order 39 inch cross head, is that the bottom measurement?

      Answer This Question

A:  Thanks for reaching out! Yes, these crossheads are measured by the bottom width. The bottom width of the crosshead should match up with your window width (and any trim/casing). Crossheads not only have a hassle-free installation, they add instant home value and character!

Q:Is the width of the crosshead the bottom width or the top width? For example, if I order an 84" crosshead, will the bottom width be 84" and the top width something longer (say 88")? Or will the top width be 84" and the bottom width be something shorter (say 80")?

          Answer This Question

A:  Hello! We are referencing the bottom width of the crosshead because that dimension is more important than the top dimension. The bottom dimension is what is going over the opening, so we allow to select your crosshead based on that dimension.

          by|Nov 13, 2018

A:  The bottom width will read as the shorter measurement.

                Answer This Question

A:  Let's see if we can clarify the dimensions. The 168" dimension is the width of the bottom of the crosshead. The width at the top of the crosshead is 172 3/8". The crosshead from the bottom to the top is 5" high/tall. The bottom of the crosshead extends from the wall by 1 7/8" while the top of the crosshead extends from the wall by 4".
