Answer This Question
A: Thank you for your interest in this product! Yes, that is exactly right. The brace would be approximately 6" wide, so if it is mounted on an 8" wide post and centered, this would leave you with approximately 1" on each side. Best of luck on your project!

Q:Hi
Do both sides of this brace have curve?
How you can install this?

Answer This Question
A: Thanks for reaching out. This is a traditional brace, so the curve (or radius) is on the front face of the bracket. The back of the brace follows the curve and the top and bottom are flat for an easy installation. There is a side view picture in the gallery that may help! Q:How wide is the face of the bracket? I assume the 4” is the depth of the bracket where it mounts to the post/beam

Answer This Question
A: Thanks for reaching out. The face of the brace is 4" in width (with the ends being 2" in thickness). The flat portion of the brace, that typically attaches to the post/house, is 11" both at the top and bottom. Hope this information helps and the brace works great for your project. Q:Are these true dimensions? Would these be appropriate to use with 4 x 4 lumber posts?

Answer This Question
A: These are the actual product dimensions.
by|May 5, 2023
A: These are true measurements, so if you order it in rough sawn it will be a full 4", which would overhang a traditional 4 X 4 post. If you order the smooth version, it will be 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 which would fit better on a 4 X 4

Q:Any suggestion on how to attach to an exterior entry way? Liquid nails? I would like to avoid screws in sight.

Answer This Question
A: Hi Agtison,
Thank you for your interest in our product line. When installing braces, It is recommended that you use some sort of screw or bolt. If you would like to avoid screws, lag bolts would be another option. Liquid nails however would most likely not be sufficient to support the brace.
