Q:I would be using this with a 4X4 post, so is the brace exactly 4" thick or is it 3-3/4"?

A: Thanks for reaching out. The 4 in. x 22 in. x 18 in. Western Red Cedar Olympic Rough Sawn Brace, is 4 inches in overall thickness. If you switched the option to "Smooth", the width would go down to 3 1/2 inches. The braces add value and authentic character to any project.
