A: Yes, it's suitable for damp locations. The package may not say that clearly, but it is marked on the base of the bulb.

Q:IS THE EcoSmart A19 8.5W (40W) Bright White (3000K) LED Bulb suitable for use in totally enclosed fixtures?

A: We would not recommend putting an LED lamp in a totally enclosed fixture. Heat is the enemy of LED lamps, and a totally enclosed fixture will not allow the air flow over the lamp resulting in ambient temperatures that could exceed the recommended operating levels for an LED lamp. To much heat could affect the operation of the lamp, and result in early lamp failure.

A: Having one in a light fixture that I use for reading on occasion, I would have no problem putting this in an enclosed fixture. The heat output is minimal, almost non-existent.

A: No. The package may not say that very clearly, but it is marked in *very small letters* on the base of the bulb.
