Q:Does the dual utility/solar feature provide any benefit (over a standard main breaker panel) when adding a standby generator/automatic transfer switch? ( I wont be using solar power, just a generator.)

Answer This Question
A: Hello,
The main benefit of this panel is that the bussing is rated at a higher amperage than the main breaker. This one will come with a 200A main, but the bussing is rated for 225A. This allows for more backfed solar capacity. You can check with your local code to see if this provides any added benefit in your application.
