Answer This Question
A: Hi Dave. It secures using the Dewalt Wedge Bolts that are included with the EZ Handrail Post Kit. Search model# EZPRBZ-W, EZBCBZ-LP, EZPMB which are the post, base plate cover, and stair brackets that are necessary for installing the kit on stairs.

Q:What is the longest usable length of rail can I get if I cut a 6 ft section into two equal pieces and have proper baluster spacing? Seems like it would not be be 3 ft. Same question for an 8 ft section.

Answer This Question
A: Hi Jim. Great question. The 6' will yield two 2'10" sections and the 8' (95 1/4") will yield two 3'9" or 3"10". The 95 1/4" lengths have a variation of 1/2" when fabricated (fastener hole punching).
Thank you for you question.

Q:Can the spindles be cut down to a shorter length?

Answer This Question
A: Absolutely, a hack saw is all that is needed.

A: Yes. The spindles are an aluminum extrusion. Which means the hole that receives the fasteners goes all the way through the spindle. I cut my spindles down with a miter saw and a fine tooth blade. You could not tell the difference from a factory end or an end I cut.

A: Hi Skid. Yes, the spindles (balusters) can be cut to any length prior to assembly allowing for virtually any height railings.

Q:I need to have two sections meet at an angle of about 120 deg instead of 0 or 90. Is there a bracket for this?

Answer This Question
A: Hi David. My apologies for the late response, your question slipped past me. Our pivot mount bracket kit (EZPMB) should work perfectly for your 120 degree intersection. The pivot brackets are a two piece ball a socket bracket engineered specifically for non 0 and 90 railing intersections/transitions.
Thank you for your question.

Q:Does the gate need a compatible post. Are the hinges for the gate included with the gate. Are the hinges spring loaded so the gate closes automatically.

Q:Can this be used for interior?

Answer This Question
A: Yes, it can function inside the same as outside. The difference could be the lenght of fasteners. Outside it attaches directly to 4x4s so the included fasteners work quite well. Inside, it most likely has a layer of sheetrock covering the 2x4. May have to purchase longer screws to compensate.

A: Yes, it can be used for the interior.

A: Yes, mine has also worked outside and was easy to install.

A: Yes, I used the 42" version of this at the top of my staircase in place of a half wall. It is sturdy and we have gotten many compliments on the appearance.

A: Hi IW. EZ Handrail is in 100% agreement with the great answer from the community. Quite common for interior installs. Visit the EZ Handrail website for installed photos. Here is the home depot part# 202453636 for a multitude of color matched fasteners or email us at support@ezhandrail.com to order specific length/type color matched fasteners.

Q:can the sections be attached to wood patio columns to reduce number of posts needed?

Answer This Question
A: Yes, it could. We did our deck with 6x6 treated wood post with PVC sleeves in each corner for a better look.
by|Oct 26, 2018
A: We used the railing kit as purchased, as would anyone using the product. City safety code regulations would not allow for additional space between posts.
