Q:Will this glue bond rubber weather stripping to polycarbonate?
by|Apr 3, 2024
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  E6000 is a great choice for bonding rubber stripping, but it may struggle to bond to the polycarbonate. To help increase this bond strength, try scuff-sanding or roughing the polycarbonate before cleaning with acetone or rubbing alcohol. This will provide a better surface for the adhesive to bond. Be sure to clamp or secure or tape the rubber stripping in place for 24 hours before use. Thank you for your support of Eclectic Products and The Home Depot!

Q:Can you glue acrylic without melting with E600 gule
    by|Apr 3, 2024
    1 Answer
    Answer This Question

A:  E6000 is a great choice for bonding acrylics but the surface will need some preparation beforehand. For best results, roughen the surfaces to be bonded with coarse sand paper. This will increase the surface area and allow for a stronger bond. Clean both surfaces with acetone or rubbing alcohol prior to applying and treat the product as a contact adhesive, meaning apply the product to both surfaces and allow 2-3 minutes for the product to get tacky before mating the two together and clamping/securing with weight for 24 hours. Answer This Question

A:  E6000 is a great choice for bonding rubber weather stripping on the inside of an automobile door. It bonds very well to rubber and metal, and is fully waterproof upon a full cure. Be sure to clean both surfaces with acetone or rubbing alcohol prior to applying. For best results treat the product as a contact adhesive, meaning apply the product to both surfaces and allow 2-3 minutes for the product to get tacky before mating the two together and clamping/securing with weight for 24 hours. Q:If applying to an item for hanging on wall, how much weight will it hold?
          by|Mar 14, 2024
          1 Answer
          Answer This Question

A:  E6000 is an incredibly strong adhesive that has over 3,500 lbs./square inch of tensile strength. Its strength will depend on what the surfaces are that are being bonded, but it should hold mirrors and picture frames very well. Clean both surfaces with acetone or rubbing alcohol prior to applying. For best results treat the product as a contact adhesive, meaning apply the product to both surfaces and allow 2-3 minutes for the product to get tacky before mating the two together and clamping/securing with weight for 24 hours. Q:Can it be used in a confined space, like a small tornado shelter, or would toxic fumes remain for an extended period?
            by|Mar 12, 2024
            1 Answer
            Answer This Question

A:  E6000 is a great all around adhesive that can be used in most settings, small spaces included. It is a solvent based adhesive that cures via the solvent evaporating. While this solvent does have an odor, the adhesive is generally finished curing (i.e. no more solvent evaporation and odor) after 48 hours, but this can occasionally take 72 hours if it is a colder or damper environment. Answer This Question

A:  E6000 has a service temperature range of -40--180 F. If the product is exposed to temperatures above 180 F, it will soften, loosen, and not hold the bond. Thank you for your support of Eclectic Products and The Home Depot!
